New Nissan Titan and Nissan Frontier Transmission Class Action
A recently filed class action lawsuit alleges that 2020-2021 Nissan Titan and 2020-2021 Nissan Frontier trucks hesitate, lag, jerk and lurch, along with other transmission issues.
The class action also claims that the trucks lurch forward when they shouldn't and without warning. The automaker also allegedly refuses to recall the trucks with the 9-speed “GE9R01A” transmissions and dealers allegedly always say the transmissions are operating normally.
A few TSBs issued by Nissan to its dealerships regarding the 9-speed transmissions are referenced in the class action complaint, namely:
NTB20-077 which applies to 2020 Frontier and 2020-2021 Titan trucks with “9 Speed A/T (GE9R01A)” transmissions, telling technicians about replacing the transmission valve body.
NTB21-028 titled “2020 Titan/Titan X; Delayed Acceleration or Delayed Upshift.” The lawsuit says the TSB applies to 2020 Nissan Titan vehicles with 9 speed GE9R01A transmissions, however it does not apply to 2021 Nissan Titan or 2020-2021 Nissan Frontier trucks.
