2022-2023 Chevrolet Malibu Frame Recall and Potential Buy Back
Chevrolet Malibu 2022–2023 owners will soon learn if General Motors needs to repurchase their cars due to major frame issues.
The front impact bars may not have been correctly soldered to the front frame rails, prompting the recall of more than 2,100 Malibu vehicles.
The Malibu frame's front impact bar, which is structurally important, will become less sturdy if the welds are not strong. See also Chevrolet lemon law.
The Malibu's defective welds may be found on the vehicle's right side, left side, or both sides.
1,875 Malibu vehicles made between July 27, 2022, and August 3, 2022 were inspected by the carmaker in collaboration with the assembly line and the supplier. None had any impact bar welds that were flawed.
On February 6, 2023, Chevrolet Malibu recall notices will be mailed. Dealers for GM will check the motor rails' right and left sides for poor welding.
If there are issues with the welds, GM may buy the car back from the owner.
