2014-2017 Honda Odyssey Transmission Problems
2014-2017 Honda Odysseys have been having issues with their transmissions, specifically the torque converter. The complaints all appear to be similar and typically revolve around the vehicle jerking or emitting a loud clunking noise, shuddering / slipping, running roughly and hesitations. Honda has acknowledged the issue in several TSB’s, which I’ve included below:
TSB A17-043 - A judder from the torque converter lock-up clutch may be felt while driving between 20 and 60 mph. The problem is typically diagnosed as a bad torque converter. American Honda investigated the judder and found that the torque converter was not causing the judder and the transmission is not damaged by this judder.
TSB A17-044 - A judder from the torque converter lock-up clutch may be felt while driving between 20 and 60 mph. The problem is typically diagnosed as a bad torque converter. American Honda investigated the judder and found that the torque converter was not causing the judder and the transmission is not damaged by this judder.
TSB 15-014 Hard Downshift or Clunk When Slowing Down to a Rolling Stop
And this is all even independent of the infotainment system issues previously discussed.
