2007-2012 GMC Acadia problems
After talking to a few owners of 2007-2012 GMC Acadia's, I've found that there have been an abnormally high amount of complaints regarding several components, namely the transmission (specifically, 3-5-R waveplate), steering, timing chain and water pump. Thankfully, GMC has issued the following free warranty extensions:
#14404: Special Coverage Adjustment - Transmission Clutch Wave Plate (10 years / 120,000 miles)
#14329B: Special Coverage Adjustment – Loss of Power Steering Assist (10 years / 150,000 miles)
#13079: Customer Satisfaction – Water Pump Shaft Seal Leaks (10 years / 120,000 miles)
#12313D: Special Coverage – Engine Balance Chain and Fuel Pump (10 years / 120,000 miles)
The warranty extensions cover different vehicles and different model years, though, so you're going to want to click on the links above to see if your vehicle is covered.
