GM Issues Extended Warranty to small amount of GMC Sierra & Yukon Transmission Pinion Gear Issue
A transmission gear problem has prompted General Motors to launch a Customer Satisfaction Program for a limited number of GMC Sierra and GMC Yukon vehicles.
Some 2023 model-year cars may have a situation where the pinion gears in the GM 10-speed automatic gearbox have low core and surface hardness. These vehicles are identified by the CSP number N232409730. Certified GM technicians have been directed to examine the impacted vehicles and replace the transmission as needed in order to resolve this problem.
Only 326 vehicles total, across all brands and models, are impacted by this customer satisfaction program, according to a GM representative. Interestingly, a few Cadillac and Chevy vehicles are also included in this.
