GM issues "stop sale" of 2024 Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon pickups due to massive software problems
More software issues with General Motors' entire portfolio have prompted the company to issue a second stop-sale order for its cars in the last three months.
In Mid-February 2024, GM put the stop-sale on all 2024 Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon midsize trucks.
This follows a December 2023 stop-sale order of 2024 Chevrolet Blazer EVs so that GM could find a fix to owner-reported software problems that include intermittent issues with in-vehicle screens and problems using DC fast charging.
The Detroit Free Press was the first to reveal last week that GM is parking a lot of its 2024 midsize trucks close to the Wentzville Assembly Plant in Missouri, where the vehicles are manufactured. Two people with knowledge of the matter indicated that the pickups were present because the cars have software bugs and are not suitable for sale. Since they are not permitted to talk in public, their names will remain anonymous.
On Monday, GM announced that while some of the midsize trucks have already been transported to dealers, the sale of all the cars has been put on hold.
Keep in mind, General Motors is the automobile manufacturer who decided to ditch Apple Carplay in favor of their own in-house made infotainment system.
