GM recalls 40,000 pickup trucks, tells owners to park outside
It's become trendy for car companies to tell people to park outside.
Following the discovery of a potential brake fluid leak that could cause a fire, General Motors is recalling certain Chevrolet Silverado medium-duty trucks for model years 2019 and beyond.
Affected automobiles could number 40,428. According to documents published by American safety regulators on Saturday, they consist of 4500HD, 5500HD, and 6500HD cars with model years between 2019 and 2023.
The brake pressure sensor assembly in the cars may allow brake fluid to leak and result in a short circuit. As a result, there is a higher chance that a fire will start when the car is moving or is parked.
GM advises owners with potentially affected models to park outdoors and away from structures until the recall repair is done. Vehicles with model years before 2019 used a different design.
The documents filed with NHTSA can be found here.
