Ford Focus RS Head Gasket Recall - Finally

For approximately a year, Ford Focus RS users have complained (on reddit, most vocally) about a burgeoning head gasket issue in their Ford Focus RS'.  Good news here being that Ford has finally announced a recall for 2016-2017 Ford Focus RS' covering the head gaskets and, in some cases, cylinder walls.  The Customer Satisfaction Program, titled 17B32, can be found here and in relevant part says:

At Ford Motor Company, we are committed not only to building high quality, dependable products, but also to building a community of happy, satisfied customers.

To demonstrate that commitment, we are providing a no-charge Customer Satisfaction Program for your vehicle with the VIN shown above.

Why are you receiving this notice? On your vehicle, the cylinder head gasket may develop a coolant leak into the engine combustion chamber.

What is the effect? A leaking cylinder head gasket may result in noticeable white smoke and/or low coolant without external leaks. What will Ford and your dealer do?

In the interest of customer satisfaction, Ford Motor Company has authorized your dealer to pressure test the cooling system and replace the cylinder head gasket. Based on test results, some vehicles may require a new cylinder head assembly. Repairs will be completed free of charge (parts and labor) under the terms of this program.

Chalk one up for the good guys here.
