Common Problems with the 2017 Chrysler 300
Fuel/Propulsion Problems:
“Filling up the gas results in a strong odor of gas in the cabin and gas leaking out of the right rear wheel well. Also caused the engine to sputter and turn off. Found content in the https://www.300cforums.com/ forum that speaks of the issue.”
“After I feel the vehicle up without topping off the vehicle starts running rough after about 10-15 minutes. The car shuts off and an error message comes up to put the car in park and then select desired gear. The entire time you can smell gas because the car is leaking fuel from the right rear wheelhouse area. This is very unsafe. I was just driving on i95 and this happened to me. This vehicle could have caused a pile up on the highway. People could have died. Recall”
“When AC is on there is a strong odor of gasoline every time we turn ac on or if the car is in use for a long time the odor is very strong in the car, since this issue started the car has been using more gasoline and I have to fill up the tank more times than usual. My car is still under manufacturers warranty and I scheduled a service with Chrysler to have it checked out but they did not want to take the vehicle into a service tech because no engine light or no code was present\. I have tried to get them to inspect the fuel lines to check if there is a leak or have them check the ac to see if they can find the cause of the strong odor that we get with the ac on but have had no luck. I am to the point that I am worried for my health and my children's health due to the strong gasoline odor.”
Electrical System Problems:
“Delamination of the touchscreen radio/navigation/ heating and cooling system resulting in unwanted button actions and distractions during driving.”
“The center console control that has your heat ,radio ,seat heat control, car temperature control as well as phone and navigation system started acting nuts.Dash started running navigation system to random destinations with distance and time then it would switch to phone and start calling random phone numbers in my contact list.Tried to call 911 and could not connect and told me to try calling from my cell phone.Like another report I read about this separation of glass on this display may very well be the cause but don’t know for sure. This is the first time I had this problem and with today’s computers on these new cars I worry if it will start taking over control of car functions and drivability issues.I have been a mechanic for more than 40 years and never seen anything like this.Hope someone will look into this problem before someone gets hurt.”

Structure Problems:
“The contact owns a 2017 Chrysler 300. The contact stated while driving approximately 40 MPH, the door panels were detaching from the door frame. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic. The mechanic informed the contact of previous recalls associated with the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 67,000.”
“Observed vehicle to have warped panels on all 4 doors. Paneling has delaminated above lock pin and locking pin is obstructed creating unlock/locking failures. New panels were ordered via Chrysler dealership in Sep/2021. Dealership notified that replacement panels are discontinued and are unable to ship to repair facilities due to replacement panels having the same defect.”
“Sunroof shatttered out of nowhere. Car had been parked got in backed out and siri of glass just popped and shattered”
